PEACOCK COURTYARD

Description:

A 16 x 20 inches painting , named as "Peacock courtyard" on canvas in acrylic ,depicts beauty of India's national bird . It's beauty always inspire architects, & artists .A best example of peacock inspired artwork is Peacock courtyard commonly known as Mor Chowk at Udaipur palace ,in Rajasthan,India. This court is considered the most spectacular in City Palace. Three peacocks adorn the court, which is also decorated with works of glass inlay. Maharanas held hearings and special dinners. The court was built during the reign of Rana Karan Singhji. However, glass inlay work and peacocks were added later by Maharana Sajjan Singhji (reigned from 1874 to 1884).
Following images are of original sculpture of peacock at Mor chowk .

Why I didn't painted  Peacock Courtyard as it is in original?

I always enjoy doing mix & match in art. Therefore I mixed  the original structure of peacock sculpture with Bengali alpana designs & gond art patterns .I applied metallic color in background ,in order to give texture of the wall.
This painting also give 3D effect ,if clicked from different angles. In this image it seems peacock is about to come out of painting ,to say welcome.

This is all about my painting Peacock Courtyard. In my upcoming blogs ,I will come up with  detailed version of each & every patterns done in this art.
