MAYURA

Mayura is the Sanskrit word for a peacock. It is a magnificent bird. It's inspiring nature encouraged me to showcase it’s beauty on canvas.So I named my painting as “Mayura”. The concept behind this painting is very simple.It is just about a beautiful bird  sitting  on  a tree. It  is not a realistic painting. It is an imaginary  mayura. The style of this painting is a blend of my imaginative ideas, and concepts of  madhubani painting ,kalamkari and    gond  art  from Bihar,Andhra Pradesh and Madhya  Pradesh  in India respectively . Peacock is the heart of this painting.It’s anatomy is divided into three parts : wings,torso & marvellous feathers.The design of wings is blending of realism & my imaginative ideas.Wings  of a real peacock have many  semi circular patterns. I decided to apply those  patterns & changed it’s look by making it more colorful.The design of its torso is completely based upon gond art patterns.Marvellous peacock feathers are the most b
