COLORFUL FISHES

 I love to watch colorful fishes swimming here & there in aquariums. So I named the painting as COLORFUL FISHES.

Moreover, this art is based upon a famous tribal art of central India known as GOND ART, which depicts local flora & fauna of the region. This art is different from contemporary art. Here I do not need to focus upon   light & shade on the body of fishes ,unlike contemporary art. I just need to focus on decorating the objects by applying fine & colorful patterns. The challenge is to highlight each & every patterns.

Besides applying variant color patterns on the fishes, I also tried to apply patterns on the background. Every human being differ from one another by appearance, character & mood. So I decorated each & every fish with different shape, color, pattern & mood. I applied dash patterns on hydra in order to depict its softness as well as its rhythm.

Hence, I am very eager to know the views regarding my art  & will be happy to share & know more about GOND ART.

MATSYA PURANA STORY OF MANU According to Hindu mythology , the Matsya Purana , is one of the eighteen major Puranas . According to the text , Matsya is the first avatar of Hindu God Vishnu , in the form of a giant fish . The text describes the tale of a great flood , where Matsya is described to have rescued the first man , Manu . Matsya forewarns Manu about an impending catastrophic flood . He orders him to collect all the grains of the world , all living creatures as well as Sapta rishis (the seven sages ) .When t he flood destroys the world , Vasuki appeared as rope , to fasten the boat with the horn of the giant fish . Matsya pulls the boat to safety & rescued Manu , accompanied by the seven great sages . Hence,The great   Manu is known as progenitor of current humanity . MAYURA

Mayura is the Sanskrit word for a peacock. It is a magnificent bird. It's inspiring nature encouraged me to showcase it’s beauty on canvas.So I named my painting as “Mayura”. The concept behind this painting is very simple.It is just about a beautiful bird  sitting  on  a tree. It  is not a realistic painting. It is an imaginary  mayura. The style of this painting is a blend of my imaginative ideas, and concepts of  madhubani painting ,kalamkari and    gond  art  from Bihar,Andhra Pradesh and Madhya  Pradesh  in India respectively .
